IMA's Shared Interest Groups are virtual communities where accounting and finance professionals from around the world connect, share insights, discuss best practices, and explore new technologies. Volunteers are at the heart of what makes these communities thrive, and IMA seeks leaders, champions, and moderators to help guide them.

IMA currently offers Shared Interest Groups in the following topic areas:

Shared Interest Groups are member-led communities that are monitored by IMA staff and governed by a set of guidelines. IMA members and nonmembers alike are welcome to join any group, but leadership roles are open only to members. Each group offers many opportunities to serve in one of these volunteer roles:

Leader

Serves as the key leader of the Shared Interest Group, responsible for creating and nurturing a supportive and inclusive environment within the group. Leaders are also responsible for managing group volunteer resources and promoting the group to attract new members into the community of like-minded individuals.

Champion

Proactively advocates for and promotes the benefits of the Shared Interest Group within their region or industry to ensure global engagement.

Moderator

Facilitates engaging discussions, curates quality content, and fosters an inclusive environment by actively moderating the Shared Interest Group community.
