  • 1.  Retired status?

Does IMA offer a retired status at a reduced fee? I retired during 2025 and no longer have any earned income. I'm 70 and don't anticipate ever returning to the workforce. I have held the CMA designation for about 37 years and hate to let it go, but its difficult to justify the regular member renewal fee. Both my CPA and CFE certifications granted me renewal under retired status at a greatly reduced cost. I'm still taking appropriate CPE so that isn't an issue.  Thanks

Yes IMA has a retired membership at a reduced rate. You'll have to contact them to get your membership switched over to retired status.

The retired CMA setup is excellent.  Like others, I value the CMA that I wanted to seamlessly keep it even though I am not active.  Like other things, it is a tribute to the organizational considerations.

IMA does have a "Retired" member status.  It is not something selectable on the member portal.  To enact, you must call the office and speak with member services.  For those members with a CMA, CFM, etc, CPE is no longer required to maintain a good standing status.

Thank you so much! This is great news!
I retired in 2024 but maintained my CPE in 2025.
I will call in next week.
    Happy New Year for sure!
