Last Friday (October 3rd) IMAs shared interest group "People and Culture" spoke about equal pay. Our community promotes inclusivity and we share global best practices to create organizational value. During our meeting we exchanged what's happening across the globe regarding financial compensation structures. We also discussed our role as Finance professionals and where we can make a difference.

2 most important conclusions from our meeting:

    • The EU Pay Transparency Directive 2023/970 is a significant milestone and a declaration of strong inclusivity values.                                                          By mandating transparency in salary ranges, gender pay gap reporting, and eliminating secrecy around compensation, this directive empowers employees to ask informed questions and expect fair answers. It also challenges leadership to build equitable pay structures based on objective, gender-neutral criteria. It creates a pivotal moment for organizations to reflect on how they reward talent - and to ensure that fairness is not just a principle, but a practice.
    • Finance professionals have a unique role in this transformation.
By leveraging data and analytics, we can uncover disparities, model equitable pay structures, and ensure that fairness is embedded in financial decisions. Let's use this directive not just to comply - but to inspire meaningful change.
