  • 1.  Doubt regarding my CMA pt 1 scores

    I would wish to gain some clarity on my test scores for the CMA pt 1. I got my exam results couple of days back and I have obtained 280 marks, but during the test day, I was not allowed to continue, the reason stated was that I did not score atleast 50 percent of the MCQs correctly.
    Considering the above mentioned information, I should have had an opportunity to continue with the essay section as I have scored well above the 50% , i.e, I have scored 280 from the MCQ section, which should have technically allowed me to attempt the essay section with a possibility of scoring 360-380 marks. 
    I would request your assistance in helping me understand this situation as soon as possible.
    Please let me know if any further information is required from my side with regards to the exam .

    Same happened with me i scored 260 in mcqs which means 50% mcqs were correct but still essay part didn't got opened. I'm confused too.

    Most of the students not perform well due to following reasons...
    1 not understanding questions 
    2 weak basic concepts of major topics 
    3 don't know MCQ solving techniques 
    4 boring study material 
    5 not solving tricky, logical absurd type questions, don't know how to deal with this ⁉️ 
    6 don't know..grade system of IMA for MCQ and essay section 
    7 not familiar with techniques,of key words to possible question ⁉️, then possible option 
    8  missing Study plan 
    9 nobody guide, exam stretegy 
    10 follow negative social media inputs

    Hi,

    As far as I know, the scaled score of 280 or 260 doesn't mean you got 50% of mcqs correct. This happens when the IMA scale their scores to bring uniformity in grading of the exams, because some of the candidates may have received tougher teslet than others. You will receive a performance report from IMA within 2 weeks, focus on your weaker areas more and clear the exams next attempt. Wish you all the best
