    Posted 6 days ago

    Hello,

I'm wondering what others are doing to meet their CPE credit requirements. Is there a package or program that offers structured CPE courses at a reasonable cost? After paying the CMA membership fee, most of the available courses-even with member discounts-are still over $100. I'm hoping to get some guidance on affordable options others are using to fulfill their CPE requirements.

    Thanks

I use Becker CPE. They do a special around Black Friday each year (it may still be going on) for $400 for a year. They have hundreds of courses, both live via webinars and on-demand. They also have a online tracker that keeps track of all your CPE.

IMA also offers numerous free CPE webinars throughout the year. I also attend a industry specific conference every year that gets me about half the CPE I need.

Congratulations on passing the CMA exam - welcome to the club!

There are at least 1.5 free CPE credit hours of live webinars listed on the IMA website each month.

Additionally, local chapters host live webinars either at 1PM EST or in the evening at either 5:30 or 6:00 EST randomly throughout each month. These are listed through the Regional or State Councils.

Look at the IMA website or contact them directly.

There are many free webinars offered every month. You can almost fulfill your CPE requirement using this route if you choose to attend 2-3 webinars a month. I prefer to attend regional conferences.  Councils offer them and IMA global has an Americas conference annually.  I like the quality and diversity conferences offer and the networking is very valuable.

I use CPA Academy https://www.cpaacademy.org. They offer a lot of different classes that are free.

I have used different local audit firms in my career and if you sign up with them, they offer free CPE webinars. You don't need to be a client of theirs to attend the CPE webinars. KPMG and PWC also put on good quarterly online events where you can earn CPE.

Like others have said, IMA offers a lot of webinars and local chapter events too including the ethics course.

    Thanks,

    Amy Berry

    Hi Sadia

I use the Earmark App, its FREE!!!  It has webinars you can listen to on youtube, spotify, etc.  It gives you a quiz at the end and if you pass, you get your CPE credit.  Courses range from 0.5 - 1.0 credits I believe.  For the free version of Earmark, you get 1 class free per week!  So I start in January and 3/4 through the year I am finished.  Earmark is strict, so if you do your class at Monday at 10am, your next free class isn't til the following monday at 10am.
