I have a few questions regarding my CMA membership and exam eligibility, and I would appreciate your guidance.
I purchased my Professional Membership on December 12, 2025, and I appeared for the US CMA Part 1 examination on June 29, 2026. My current membership is valid until November 30, 2026.
I am planning to take the US CMA Part 2 examination in January 2027, and I have the following questions:
- Since my membership expires on November 30, 2026, will I be eligible to take the Part 2 exam in January 2027 if I renew my membership?
- Is there any IMA policy that requires candidates to complete both CMA exams within one year of purchasing or renewing their membership? If I take Part 2 in January 2027, will I need to retake Part 1, or will my Part 1 result remain valid?
- If I instead schedule my Part 2 exam during the September–October 2026 testing window (for example, at the end of October), will I be able to receive my exam result even though my membership expires on November 30, 2026?
I would greatly appreciate your clarification on these questions, as your response will help me decide when to schedule my Part 2 examination.
Thank you for your time and assistance
