Hi All,
I recently returned from IMA's 93rd Annual Conference in Las Vegas, including a global board meeting to review and approve IMA's budget and strategic plan. I know that there were some concerns from the general membership about IMA's long term viability in an increasingly competitive environment, including announcement last year of a new competing management accounting credential. I am very pleased to report -
- The board approved our growth plan including an innovation budget.
- This growth budget will allow IMA to sustain its successes of the past year, including a net gain of over 4,000 members, growth in the US for the first time in over two decades, CMA candidate growth in all regions of the world, and a record number of new CMAs, not to mention continued financial health.
- New strategic partnerships announced or reinforced to increase our global footprint and awareness, including a) J. Wiley and Sons Publishing, to co-brand the CMA Learning System, b) ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), to collaborate on joint research, CFO roundtables, educational products and other areas which better serve the global market, and, c) SAFEA, the branch of the Chinese government that provides training and education to finance and accounting professionals in China.
Another IMA "competitive" asset continues to be our spirit of winning, of serving members and society, of volunteerism, and, of community.
Thanks.
Jeff
