Hi All,
As you probably have heard, the AICPA and CIMA from the U.K. have announced a proposal for a Joint Venture which if approved by the governing bodies in May, would create a new management accounting designation.
Every day, we are faced with risks and opportunities to create great things for our members and the global profession. This is yet another challenge. Here's more, and here's how you can help.....
Please take a look at IMA's Annual Report which was posted on the website earlier in the year and is attached here. Your association is healthy and thriving, and guess what, we are not going anywhere. IMA was built on the backs of volunteers nearly 92 years ago, and community and core values are keywords. There is another C - the CMA, which is the gold standard around the world for certifiying competency in management accounting. And yes, IMA is global, and you will be seeing some exciting press releases in this arena soon.
Other associations will do what they are going to do, but please remember: Size does not trump Agility, Service and Community. We welcome any professional association to the conversations on the criticality of management accounting in enriching careers, organizations and societies - a conversation IMA has led for over nine decades.
Whether you are a CMA, or a CMA candidate, or an IMA member in general, please talk up your great association. We have plenty of powerful collateral and resources at Montvale and in our global regions to promote IMA/CMA to your boss, to the HR folks, and to your peers. Very soon, we will be launching "ambassador programs" to spread the word and accelerate IMA's growth journey in advancing our proud profession.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Jeff
